When I'm in Playa del Rey, I often drive over Ballona Creek at dusk and wish there was somewhere to stop and take a picture... Well today I stopped and took one! This is looking west towards the ocean.

Update: Looking back at the photos I’ve shot as I update the site, I remember this photo was taken on the way home from the camera store with a brand new Canon 5D MkII DSLR. I was especially excited to get this camera, a camera that changed the photography world, and was responsible for almost all of my photos from 2009-2013.

The 5D MkII was the first DSLR camera that could shoot video. Shooting video through small digital cameras with fast lenses made it possible to shoot high quality video without special lighting, revolutionized the way cinematographers approached their craft, and turned many photographers into videographers.
